This week we explore a sensitive topic, especially in small ministries, and that is how family members fit into the context of ministry. David’s sons, we read, are chief rulers; we’re not given specifics of what exactly they did, but they were rulers. As such they should be; one of them could be the next king, after all. But this practice of putting family into important positions in business or ministry, without regards to qualifications, can be a bad idea. The practice is called nepotism, and this week we’re going to dig into this sensitive topic in some depth.
